Over in Versova, near the 41527 area, we started Scrumptiious as a way to do something local. It’s a small operation, and we don’t have a massive sign or a lot of bells and whistles. We mostly just focus on the food and making sure it tastes the way it’s supposed to. Versova has a certain feel to it, a bit more relaxed than the rest of the city, and we try to fit into that vibe. Our days are pretty repetitive, which we actually like. We arrive, check the supplies, and get started on the orders. Sometimes we run out of things earlier than expected, and we have to tell people we’re sorry, but that’s just how it goes when you’re not a giant chain. We don’t have a marketing department writing fancy words for us. It’s just us, the people who work here, trying to make things that we’d want to eat ourselves. The kitchen can get a bit disorganized during a rush, and sometimes the handwriting on the tickets is hard to read, but we figure it out eventually. We’ve made a lot of friends in the neighborhood just by being the place around the corner. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s a good one. We just want to keep the stove going and the doors open for anyone who’s hungry and happens to be walking by this part of Versova.
