Our office is based over in Bandra East. It’s a part of Mumbai that never really stops moving. Being in the insurance business means we spend a lot of time looking at screens and talking on the phone. The office isn't very large, and it’s usually filled with the sound of keyboards clicking. Outside, the traffic of Bandra is always humming. We see people rushing to the station or heading to the bigger office buildings nearby. Our day is mostly filled with paperwork and helping people figure out their claims. It’s not the most exciting work in the world, but it’s important. We have a small pantry where we make tea, and that’s usually where the best conversations happen. Sometimes the monsoons make the commute to Bandra East a nightmare, and half of us show up soaking wet. We just dry off and get back to the files. It’s a regular office life. We don't have any fancy views, just the street below and the other buildings. Most of our customers are just normal people worried about their cars or their health. We talk to them in plain English and try to get things sorted out without too much trouble. It can be stressful when there’s a lot of work piled up, but we just take it one folder at a time. When it’s time to go home, we join the crowds at the station and do it all again tomorrow. It is just the daily grind.
