Sawant Malwani Fast Food is located on Mumbai Link Road 19. If you know the Link Road, you know how the traffic can be, especially in the evenings. We are right there where all the cars and buses go by. We focus on Malwani style food because that’s what we know how to cook. The kitchen is always busy with the smell of coconut and dried fish. It’s a small shop, mostly for quick bites or people picking up parcels on their way home from work. We have a few chairs, but they are usually full. The walls are plain and we don't have any fancy lights. We just use the standard tubelights that everyone else uses. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, and the neighbors know us. Sometimes we run out of the fish fry early because it’s popular. We don't do much delivery, mostly just people coming to the window and asking for what they want. The floor gets a bit greasy from the frying, so we have to mop it several times a day. It’s just a regular fast food joint on a busy road. We don't try to be anything else. We open up in the afternoon and stay late into the night until the last of the commuters have gone home. It gets noisy with the traffic but the kitchen keeps us busy.
