Saroj Khan Dance Academy

We’re located over in Goregaon West, specifically at Shop No 22 in Veena Apartment. It’s in Sector 21, which is a pretty lively area to be in. The academy is where we spend most of our afternoons and evenings, teaching people how to move and get the steps right. It’s not a giant studio with gold mirrors, just a practical space where the floor gets a lot of use. You can usually hear the music coming from the shop if you’re walking by the apartment building. We get a mix of people coming in—some kids who have way too much energy and some adults who just want to learn a few moves for a wedding or something. It’s a bit cramped when the classes are full, but that’s part of the fun of it. We don't worry too much about perfection right away; it’s more about just getting the rhythm down. The neighborhood is great, and there’s always something happening nearby. Sometimes the music is a bit loud for the neighbors, but we try to be mindful. If you're looking for us, just look for the sign near the entrance of Veena Appartment. It’s a simple setup, but it works for what we do. We’ve been teaching dance here for a while and it’s just become a regular part of the daily routine for everyone involved. It’s a good spot to just forget about everything else and just focus on the dance moves for an hour.
