We've been here at Fort 110 for a good while now. It’s just a simple space where we get together to dance. Nothing fancy, just mirrors on the walls and a floor that’s seen a lot of feet. People from around the neighborhood stop by after work or school. Sometimes it gets a bit loud, but that’s just how it goes when you’re teaching different styles. My shoes are usually left by the door first thing in the morning. We don't have a big reception desk or anything, just a few chairs for parents to sit while they wait for their kids. The fans overhead hum quite a bit during the summer months. Most days I’m just tidying up the music player or fixing a loose board. We don’t run a big operation, just a few of us making sure everyone learns their steps. The lighting could be better, I guess, but it works for what we do. You can find us easily enough if you know where the main building is. I started this because I just liked moving to music and it grew from there. It's not a corporate gym or a high-end studio, just Sargam Dance Class. Some days are quieter than others, especially when it rains. We keep the water cooler filled up and the windows open. We often have to sweep the floor because of the dust. It’s a lot of work, but we manage. We aren't looking to become some big franchise. We just enjoy the music and the movement.
