Our workshop and office are at number 15 in the Nahar & Seth Pannalal Compound. Industrial compounds like this one are always full of activity, with trucks coming in and out and the constant sound of machines running in the background. At Sanket Printing Machinery, we deal with the heavy stuff. The floors are concrete and usually have a few oil stains, which is normal when you’re working with printing presses and spare parts. It’s a big space because these machines take up a lot of room. We have a team of mechanics and technicians who are usually covered in grease by noon. It’s not a clean-shirt kind of job. We spend a lot of time taking things apart and putting them back together to make sure everything works right. The Pannalal Compound is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it, but we’ve been here long enough that we know all the other businesses nearby. We don't have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see a machine, they come right into the middle of the work area where we are fixing things. It can get pretty loud and hot, especially during the summer months when the metal roof traps the heat. We just keep the big fans going and stay focused on the task at hand. It’s hard work, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a big machine finally start running smoothly after hours of tinkering. We’ve been doing this for years and it is what we know.
