Sanjay Turi Architects

We've been working here at Sanjay Turi Architects for a while now. Our office is right by Mahalaxmi Bhigvan Chowk on Nevse Road, near 20 Famous Studio Lane. It's a busy spot but we like it. Most days we are busy looking at drawings or talking about how a room should look. We don't really do the big flashy corporate thing. It's just us figuring out how to make a space work better for whoever is going to live or work there. Sometimes the plans get messy and we have to start over. That’s just part of how it goes. People come in with an idea of what they want, and we sit down with a cup of tea and see if it's possible. We spend a lot of time thinking about walls and windows. Some people think architecture is all about fancy sketches, but it's mostly about making sure the roof doesn't leak and the stairs are in the right place. We know the area well since we’re based right here. If you walk past the studio lane, you’ll probably see us inside hunched over a desk. We try to keep things simple and honest. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to build things that stay standing and look okay. It’s hard work sometimes, but it’s what we do. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit from our windows. Dealing with permits and contractors is a headache, but we manage.
