Sams Dance Academy

Sams Dance Academy is our little studio over in Goregaon West. If you know the area, you know it’s always moving. We’ve got this space at 37628 where we spend most of our evenings. It’s not a huge ballroom or anything, just a good floor and some mirrors. We started this because we just liked dancing and wanted a place for people in the neighborhood to come and move around. We get all kinds of folks here. Some are really good, and some have two left feet, but it doesn't really matter as long as they’re trying. The music is usually playing from morning till late. Goregaon can be noisy, so we just fit right in. We don't have a big front desk or a bunch of staff. It’s usually just one of us holding the keys and turning on the lights. Sometimes the floor needs a good polish, and we handle that ourselves too. It’s a lot of work keeping a dance school going, but it’s better than sitting in an office all day. We see kids coming in after school and then the adults show up after work. It’s a nice mix of people. We don't do fancy commercials. Usually, it's just someone hearing the music from the street and walking in to see what’s happening. We just enjoy the rhythm and the company of the local people.
