Sabar Trading Co

Sabar Trading Co is situated on Charni Road, at Shop No 22 in Building No 164. It’s a small trading spot in a very old part of the city. We deal with various goods that come in and out every week. The shop is pretty small, so we have to be really careful about how we stack the boxes to make sure we have enough space to move around. Most of our day is spent checking inventory, talking to suppliers on the phone, and making sure the orders are ready for pickup. It’s not a high-tech operation at all. We still use a lot of handwritten ledgers and simple calculators. The building has that old Mumbai feel to it, and it can get quite hot in the afternoons. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of fans that move the air around. We’ve been at this Charni Road location for quite a while now. We know the delivery guys and the neighbors by name. We don't do much to promote ourselves; we just stay open and do our business. It’s a practical life. Some days are slow and we just sit by the door, while other days we are moving boxes until our backs ache. We aren't trying to expand into some big corporation. We are just a local trading company doing what we’ve always done. It’s a simple living for us and we're used to the routine.
