S. K. International

We are located on the first floor of a building in Govind Wadi, right on Kalbadevi Road. If you’ve ever been to Kalbadevi, you know it is one of the most crowded places in Mumbai. There is constant noise, people pushing past each other, and handcarts everywhere. Our office at No. 294-A is right in the middle of all that. It’s an old building, the kind with narrow stairs that have seen better days. S. K. International has been here for years now. We do a lot of international work, mostly dealing with fabrics and garments since this area is the hub for it. Inside, it’s mostly just stacks of samples and files. We don’t have air conditioning in the hallways, so it gets pretty stuffy in the summer months. We aren't trying to be some big multinational corporation with a glass building. We are just local guys who know how to navigate the markets. Most of our day is spent on the phone or running down to meet a supplier a few blocks away. It is tiring but this is where the business happens. You can't really do this kind of work from a quiet suburb. You have to be here in the thick of it. We don’t have a fancy mission statement to show you. We just make sure the orders are filled and the shipments leave the port on time. It's just simple hard work.
