S K Fast Food Corner

S K Fast Food Corner is located where Mahakali Road meets Jijamata Road. It’s a tight little spot, but it works for us. We spend most of our day standing around the stove or chopping things up. It’s not the kind of place where you’d bring a date for a fancy dinner. It’s more for people who are in a hurry and just want something to eat while they stand on the sidewalk. The intersection is always a mess with buses and bikes everywhere. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls. Mostly it’s just calendars and maybe a small mirror. The heat from the cooking makes the air heavy, especially during the monsoon when everything is humid. We’ve got a couple of guys working here who have been around for years. We don't talk much during the rush, we just pass things back and forth. There’s no big secret to what we do. We just buy the ingredients and cook them. Sometimes the rain blows in and we have to pull the plastic sheets down. It’s a simple life. We don’t have a manager or a corporate office. It’s just a corner shop on a busy street. People know us because we’re always here. If the lights are on, we are working. That’s pretty much all there is to say about us at Mahakali Road.
