I set up Ritesh Singh Investment & Insurance in Malad East. The office is in Girija Niwas, specifically Room No 5 in C Block on the 1st Main Road. It’s right across from the Lime Depot, so it’s easy to tell people where to go when they get lost. It’s not a big glass building or anything. It’s a quiet room where I keep all the files for life insurance and mutual funds. People come by when they are worried about their savings or need to file a claim. I spend a lot of my day reading through policy documents and explaining the small print to neighbors. Sometimes the fan in the room makes a bit of noise, but it keeps us cool. Living and working in Malad means I see my clients at the market or the tea stall too. It’s a local business. I handle the paperwork so others don't have to deal with the headache. There are a lot of forms to fill out these days. I have my desk and a couple of chairs for whoever drops in. We talk about the future and how to keep a bit of money aside for the kids. It’s straightforward work. I’ve been at this spot on 7th Cross for years. Most people just walk in without an appointment because they were passing by the depot anyway.
