Rita Shah

You will find Rita Shah over in Borivali West, right on the 3rd floor at building number 53. Being near Gokul Hotel is helpful because people use that as a landmark when they are lost. The walk up to the third floor can be a bit tiring if the weather is hot, which it usually is in Mumbai. The office isn't very large but we make it work. There are a couple of desks and a lot of folders stacked up in the corners. It is a bit of a climb, but once you are up here, it is a bit quieter than the street level noise. We are right in the middle of everything in Borivali, so there is always something happening outside the window. You can hear the auto-rickshaws honking and people shouting at the market nearby. It’s a simple setup we have going. Rita is usually busy with paperwork or talking to people who drop by for advice or help with their things. We don’t have fancy carpets or glass walls, just regular chairs and a fan that wobbles a little when it is on the high setting. Most days start early before the trains get too crowded. By the time evening rolls around, the whole area around Gokul Hotel is packed with people getting off work. We usually stay until the lights in the hallway go dim. It’s just how things are here.
