Red Box Cafe

Our cafe is located at 891 on 9th Cross in Bandra West. Being tucked away from the main busy roads is actually how we like it. We’ve been here for a while now, and the place has a bit of a lived-in feel to it. The chairs don't all match and the floorboards creak a little when you walk over them. Most of the cooking happens in a tiny kitchen at the back that barely fits two people at once. Morning times are often chaotic when we’re trying to get the baking done and serve coffee at the same time. A big team of waiters isn't something we have; it’s usually just us and a friend helping out. Sometimes the service is a bit slow if we’re busy chatting with a regular or if the oven is taking its time. We aren't trying to be one of those polished places you see in magazines. It’s just a simple spot to sit down for a bit. A lot of our time is spent washing dishes and wiping down the counters. The lighting stays a bit dim because some of the old lamps are a bit temperamental. Over the years, we’ve gotten to know the people on this street pretty well. This quiet corner of Bandra is where we feel at home.
