Ramu Sarees

Ramu Sarees is located in Malad West at the Chakala area. We are in Shop No 20 and 21 of the New Municipal Market. It is a busy place with lots of people walking by and other shops all around us. We have a lot of different sarees stacked up on the shelves, from simple daily wear to things that are a bit more colorful for special days. The shop isn't huge, but we make use of every inch of space we have. There are usually two or three of us here to help people find what they are looking for. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team; we just open the shutters every morning and wait for customers to come in. Sometimes it gets really crowded, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants something new. We have some fans humming to keep it cool, but it can still get warm with all the activity. We’ve been in this market for quite some time and know many of the other shopkeepers around here. It feels like a little community. We spend a lot of time folding and unfolding fabric to show the patterns to whoever walks in. It’s hard work on your feet all day, but we enjoy seeing people find a piece of cloth they really like.
