We’ve been here at the Patanwala Industrial Complex for a while now. Most people know the LBS Marg stretch in Ghatkopar is always crowded, so getting to work is a bit of a challenge every morning. Our unit is in the Jhalawar building, room 201. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular trading setup with desks and files everywhere. Most days it’s just us handling orders and talking to transporters who get stuck in the same traffic we do. The industrial estate has its own rhythm, lots of noise from the other units and people moving boxes around in the corridors. We’ve grown used to it. Sometimes the lift works, sometimes you just take the stairs to the second floor because it’s faster. We deal with various goods as traders, mostly keeping track of what comes in and what goes out. It’s a lot of phone calls and ledger entries. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a door with our name on it. If you’re coming from the West side of the station, it’s a bit of a trek but manageable. We usually have tea around four when things quiet down a bit before the evening rush starts again. It’s hard work keeping things moving, but that’s just how it is here in Mumbai. We just focus on getting the day's tasks done before the sun sets and the traffic on LBS Marg gets even worse than it was in the morning.
