My office is in Santacruz East, right in E Block on the 14th Main Road. It’s tucked into Hajihasan Chawl, not far from the Adarsh Apartment. If you find the Anant Bidi Shop, you’re pretty much there. I’ve been doing insurance consultancy from this spot for quite some time now. It’s mostly about sitting down with people and going through all those long forms that nobody likes to read. I spend a lot of time on the phone or filling out paperwork on my desk. It’s a small space, but it’s enough for what I do. People from the neighborhood come by when they have questions about their policies or when something happens and they aren't sure what to do next. I try to explain things clearly without using too many big words. It’s just me here, so things are pretty informal. I keep my files organized as best as I can, though the stacks of paper do grow. Dealing with insurance can be a bit of a headache for folks, so I just try to help them get it sorted. It’s not a big corporate office with glass walls, just a regular room where we can sit and talk. I’ve lived and worked around here for years, so I know most of the people who stop in. Sometimes we just chat about the neighborhood before we even get to the insurance stuff. It's just how things go in Santacruz East.
