Rajeev Dance Academy

We are located in Kandivali West, inside the B Wing at flat number 203 of the Gauravg building. It’s basically a flat that we’ve turned into a space for dancing. It’s not a huge professional studio with lights and stages, just a room with some mirrors and a good floor. We play music all through the afternoon and evening. You can hear the beats coming from the window if you’re walking nearby. We have kids and adults coming in at different times. Mostly it’s local people from the neighborhood. We don’t have a big reception desk or fancy uniforms. We just wear comfortable clothes and get moving. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when a big class is happening, but we make it work. The building is a regular residential one, so we try not to be too loud late at night. We teach different styles, whatever the students are interested in learning. It’s a lot of sweat and practice. We don’t have a big philosophy about it, we just like to dance and help others learn the steps. The sessions are usually pretty casual. We spend a lot of time repeating the same moves until everyone gets the rhythm right. It’s a friendly place where everyone knows each other. We’ve been in this Gauravg flat for a while now and the music keeps us going.
