Raj Catering Sai

We run Raj Catering Sai out of Shop No 1 on Khot Kuwa Road in Malad East. It’s near the Althan area, right by the Char intersection. Our kitchen is where everything happens. We spend most of our time planning menus and cooking large batches of food for local events. It’s not a restaurant where you can sit and eat, it’s more of a base for our catering work. There are always big pots of rice steaming and someone chopping vegetables at the table. We started this because we liked cooking for our neighbors and it just grew from there. It gets very hectic when there is a wedding or a big party nearby. The shop is filled with crates and serving trays stacked up high. We don't have a big marketing team or a glossy brochure. Usually, someone eats our food at a party and then calls us for their own event. That is how we have stayed in business all these years. My brother handles the deliveries and I stay in the kitchen to make sure the spices are right. It’s hard work and the hours are long, especially on weekends when everyone has a function. We don't use any fancy equipment, just the stuff that has worked for us for a long time. If you need food for a function, you just come by the shop and we can talk about what you need over a cup of tea. We try to be helpful.
