Raha Designer Sarees

Down on Lbs Marg, specifically at D/8 A on the 4th Cross of Promenade Road, is where you’ll find Raha Designer Sarees. This part of Frazer Town always feels like it’s in a hurry. Between the traffic on Ghoga Street and the people walking to the nearby shops, there’s never a dull moment. Our shop is a bit hidden if you aren't looking for the right turn. Inside, the walls are lined with sarees that have all sorts of work on them. It’s not a huge place, so we have to be careful not to trip over the boxes that come in from the suppliers. The floor has some cracks from years of use, but we put a rug over the worst parts. We spend a lot of time checking the embroidery and making sure nothing is loose. It’s not glamorous work. It’s mostly just checking invoices and making sure the hangers don’t break. The tea seller comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. The air smells like the street food from outside and the starch from the new fabrics. We don’t bother with big slogans or anything. We just open the shutters, turn on the fans, and start the day. Sometimes a customer wants something we don't have, so we have to go looking through the back stock. It’s just us doing what we’ve always done in this little corner of the city.
