R R Catering Services is tucked away in the Versova Vihar housing society. We are located on RTO Lane, which stays pretty busy because of Janakidevi High School being right across from us. It’s a good spot, though parking can be a nightmare sometimes. We started this business because we wanted to work for ourselves. It’s mostly just family and a few helpers. We do a lot of catering for the people living in the societies around Andheri West. It's nice because we know a lot of the families by name now. Our kitchen isn't huge, but we make it work by staying organized. We don't use any fancy equipment, just the standard stuff that gets the job done. Sometimes the noise from the school is a lot, but it adds to the life of the place. We usually start our prep work while the kids are heading into class. There’s a lot of chopping and stirring involved in our daily routine. We don't have a glossy brochure to show people. Usually, someone just calls us up and asks if we can do a lunch for twenty people. We say yes and then we get to work. It’s a simple way of living. We just try to make sure the food tastes like it was made at home. It’s not always easy, but it is the job we chose.
