Prakash Gore Amita Gore Architects Interior Design Cinema Design

We run our architecture and design business out of Kandivali East, in the Samarth Society. Specifically, we are in units 118 and 119 of the Dimple Arcade in Asha Na. It’s a partnership between the two of us, Prakash and Amita. We’ve been working together for years, so we have a bit of a system down. One of us handles more of the interior design and the other focuses on the architectural side and our specialized cinema design projects. Cinema design is a bit of a niche, but we’ve always enjoyed the technical challenges it brings. Dimple Arcade is a typical busy commercial building where everyone is trying to get things done. Our office is often overflowing with blueprints for theaters and residential interiors. It’s not a very quiet place, as there’s always something happening in the arcade or out on the street. We’ve got two units because one just wasn't enough to hold all the samples and drawings we accumulate. We don't really bother with fancy decor for ourselves; our focus is always on the projects we’re doing for others. We’ve spent many Saturdays here finishing up drawings or meeting with vendors. Kandivali is a good place to be based because it’s so active. We know most of the other shop owners in the arcade, and we usually get our lunch from the same place every day. It’s a straightforward, hardworking environment, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It’s just us doing what we know how to do in this little corner of the city.
