Our little pizza place is at Shop No 1 on 35th Road in Khar West, just off Link Road. It’s a pretty lively street with a lot of shops and people walking their dogs. We have a small oven in the back that stays hot all day long. Making the dough is the first thing we do every morning, and if we run out, we have to start all over again. The counter is usually covered in a bit of flour, no matter how much we wipe it. We don't have a lot of room for people to sit, so a lot of our orders are for people to take home. The delivery bikes are always parked out front, and the drivers are constantly coming in and out. Sometimes we get the orders mixed up when it’s really busy, but we always try to fix it quickly. The phone rings a lot, which can get a bit distracting when you’re trying to stretch the crust. We’ve been in Khar for a while and we know the delivery routes pretty well by now. It’s a bit messy and loud, but that’s just how a pizza shop is supposed to be. The neighbors are nice, and we see the same kids coming in after school for a slice. It’s a simple business, just us, the oven, and a lot of cheese and tomatoes. We’re just happy to be part of the street.
