Pirates Of Kitchen

Finding us on Kalbadevi 1st Main Road isn't too hard if you know the 4th Cross area. It’s a busy part of town, always people moving around and bikes parked everywhere. We called it Pirates Of Kitchen because we wanted something that sounded a bit different, though we aren't actually sailors or anything like that. The kitchen is where everything happens. It gets quite hot in there during the lunch hour, and the noise from the pans and the exhaust fan is constant. We spend most of our time just prepping ingredients and making sure we don't run out of stuff mid-day. The space is a bit tight, especially when we have three or four people working at once. We usually have boxes stacked in the corner because there’s never enough storage. It’s not a fancy setup, just some sturdy tables and the equipment we need to cook. Customers usually come from the shops nearby or people passing through the market. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic, but that’s just how things go in Kalbadevi. We don’t really have a big staff, just a few of us who have been working together for a bit. We know each other's rhythms by now. We don't do much advertising; mostly it’s just people seeing the sign and walking in because they’re hungry. It’s honest work, and it keeps us on our toes every single day.
