Pawan Aluminium & Door

We’re based at Vanaz Corner on Paud Road 5 in Kandivali West. It’s a lively intersection, and there’s always a lot of foot traffic passing by our front door. Our main work involves cutting aluminum sections and putting together doors for people. We have a big miter saw that makes a sharp zipping sound every time we cut a frame. The floor is usually covered in those thin silver curls of aluminum that stick to everything. We have racks against the walls where we keep the different styles of handles and rollers. It’s a practical setup. We don't have air conditioning, so we just leave the front wide open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. Sometimes the dust from the street blows in, but that’s just part of being in this location. We use a lot of rubber gaskets and glass panels, so we have to be careful not to trip over things. Our workbench is covered in scratches and pencil marks where we’ve laid out measurements. We don’t have a professional secretary; we just answer the door and help whoever walks in. It might look a bit cluttered to an outsider, but we know exactly where every tool and screw is kept. We just focus on getting the doors finished so they fit right. It’s a simple shop, and we like it that way.
