Palak Designer Studio

If you are walking around the Vivina Shopping Centre, you will find us at Shop No 9. We are right there on Race Course Road in Andheri West. It is a small shop, but we have packed it with as much as we can. There are rolls of cloth everywhere and the sound of the sewing machine is almost always going in the back. We started this studio because we liked making things, and it just grew into a full-time job. It’s not a big fancy showroom with bright lights and models. It is just a place where we measure, cut, and stitch. Some days the shop is a total mess with thread and scraps of fabric all over the floor, but we clean it up before we leave at night. Customers come in with their ideas, and we try to make them real. We don't have a big sales pitch. We just show what we have and see if they like it. The shopping center gets busy on the weekends, but during the week, it’s a bit quieter and we can get more work done. We’ve had the same neighbors in the other shops for a long time. It feels like a small village inside the big city. We just keep our heads down and keep working on the next piece. It is hard work, but it’s what we do.
