Nagdevi Street is a specific kind of place. It’s narrow, crowded with handcarts and people carrying heavy iron pieces. Oriental Machine Tools Co is right there at number 44. We’ve been at this spot for a long time. It isn't a fancy office with air conditioning everywhere. It’s a place where we keep tools and talk to people who need them for their workshops. Sometimes the street gets so blocked up that even a bike can't pass, but that’s just how Mandvi is. We spend most of our mornings checking the stock and seeing what came in. The shelves are high and filled with different machine parts. If you come by, you’ll see us at the counter or probably in the back moving things around. It's noisy because of the traffic outside and the nearby shops doing their own work. We don't have a big sign with lights. It’s just the name on the front and a lot of metal inside. People know us because we’ve been at 44 Mandvi Nagdevi Street for years. Most days are the same, just keeping track of the inventory and making sure the tools are where they belong. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and writing down numbers. You get used to the smell of grease and the sound of the city right outside the door. It’s just a regular business day for us here in the middle of Mandvi.
