Ghatkopar Sarees

Ghatkopar Sarees is our little shop over on M G Road in Ghatkopar East. We are located at Shop Number 24 inside the Gayatri Dham building. If you are looking for us, we are pretty much directly across from the Titan showroom, which makes it easier for people to find us in the crowd. We’ve been here on this street for a long time now. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot of sarees into the wooden shelves. We spend our days unfolding and folding fabric, showing different colors and patterns to anyone who walks in. It gets quite busy on the weekends when people are out shopping on M G Road. We don’t have a website or any online store; we just rely on people walking by or hearing about us from their friends and neighbors. It’s a very local feel here. We know most of the other shop owners on the block, and we usually have our tea together when things slow down in the late afternoon. The shop has a simple counter and some small stools for customers to sit on while they look at the stock. We don't try to be fancy or look like a designer boutique. It's just a place to buy a saree without any unnecessary fuss. Sometimes the air conditioning acts up during the summer, or the lights flicker when it rains, but that’s just part of being in an older building. We just enjoy the daily interaction with the local community.
