Om Sai Bhelpuri House

You can find us over at Sajal Apartment, right in Shop No 1 on LBS Marg in Kandivali West. It’s a busy spot because the road is one of the main ones around here. There’s always the sound of horns and buses right outside our door. We spend most of our afternoon getting the bhelpuri ingredients ready, chopping onions and tomatoes until our eyes sting. The chutney needs to be made fresh, so that takes up a good chunk of time before we open. The shop is small, mostly just the counter and enough room for a few people to stand around while they eat. We don’t have much in the way of decor, just the basic stuff you need to run a bhelpuri house. It gets hot in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and stopping by for a snack. We try to work fast, but sometimes there’s a line and people have to wait. We’ve been in this building for a while now and we know the other shopkeepers around here pretty well. It’s a good community. We deal with the usual problems, like the electricity flickering sometimes or the water supply being a bit low, but we make it work. It’s just how it is. We aren't trying to be anything other than a local spot where you can get something quick to eat. We just keep our heads down and keep the bhelpuri mixing.
