New Variety Stores

New Variety Stores is located at shop number 14, right in the Archies Gallery section of Natraj Market on Station Road in Malad West. Being in Natraj Market means it’s always lively and there's never a quiet moment. We’ve been here for quite some time, and we've seen the market change a lot over the years. We sell a bit of everything, hence the name. We have small gift items, stationery, and various household things that people often realize they need at the last minute. The shop is pretty small, so every inch of wall space is covered with something. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. Most of our customers are locals from Malad or people who just stepped off the train at the station and are walking through the market. I work here with my sister, and we try to keep track of everything, though sometimes things get misplaced behind other boxes. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the crowd to arrive. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to people, which can be tiring, but it’s a good living. We like the energy of the market and being part of the daily commute for so many people. It’s just a simple store in a busy place. Sometimes we run out of things, but we always try to restock quickly.
