Musical Mushrooms

Musical Mushrooms has been based near St. Andrew’s Church for quite some time. We use the space over at Bosco Hall on 1st Cross in Bandra West. It’s a busy area, especially on weekends, but once you’re inside the hall, things quiet down a bit. We spend a lot of our time organizing practice sessions and getting people together to play. The name usually makes people smile when they first hear it. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything. It’s mostly just us hanging out near the church, moving chairs around and setting up stands for whoever is coming by that day. Sometimes the acoustics in the hall are a little echoey, but that’s just part of the charm of an older building. We’ve grown attached to the neighborhood and the people who walk by every day. You’ll find us there most afternoons, usually carrying some gear or trying to figure out where the extra cables went. It isn't a high-tech setup. We rely on old-fashioned practice and just showing up. If you are ever near the church and hear some music coming from the hall, that is probably us. We keep things simple and try to make sure everyone feels welcome to join in without a lot of fuss or unnecessary pressure. It's a good place for people who just love making sounds together and don't care about being perfect right away.
