Being located in the MIDC area means we are surrounded by a lot of industries and plots, which might seem like a weird spot for music classes, but it works for us. We are at plot 41309 and you can usually hear someone practicing a scale or a beat even when the trucks are rumbling past outside. It’s a simple setup. We have a couple of rooms where we keep the instruments. Sometimes the humidity makes the guitar strings act up, or the drums need tuning more often because of the dust from the nearby construction, but we just handle it. People from around the neighborhood come by after work or school. It’s not some big fancy academy with shiny floors. It’s just a place where you can sit down and try to get your fingers to move the right way on a keyboard. We spend a lot of time just showing people where to put their hands. Some days it gets pretty loud when two different classes are going at once, and we just have to close the doors and hope for the best. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know a bit about music and want to spend our time teaching others. It’s a bit messy sometimes with sheet music lying around and tea cups on the tables, but it’s our space.
