Mr Santosh Shridhar Kadage

My workspace is at number 6 on Avenue Road, right in the Nathu Amble Chawl. It’s in Andheri West, which everyone knows is a busy place to be. I am Santosh Shridhar Kadage. This isn't a fancy office with air conditioning. It’s a humble spot where I get my daily work done. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear the neighbors talking or the kids playing outside in the lane. I’ve got a sturdy table and a few chairs that have seen better days. Most of the time, I’m busy with whatever project is on hand. It can get a bit cramped when I have supplies delivered, but we make it work. I’ve been in this chawl for a long time, and I like being part of the community here. We all look out for each other. My work isn't anything glamorous, just honest labor to keep things moving. I usually start quite early before the sun gets too hot. There is a small window that lets in some light, but I mostly rely on the overhead bulb. Sometimes the power cuts out for an hour, and I just take that time to go for a walk and grab a vada pav. It’s a practical way to live and work. I don't need much more than what I have here. It’s just me doing my bit every day. It gets loud and hot, but it’s home for my business.
