Mosaic Design

Mosaic Design operates out of Suite 5-6-7 at the Pioneer Heritage Residency II. We are located in the Doulat Nagar Extension, just off the S.V. Road in Santacruz West. It’s a bit different because we are inside a residency building, so it’s not like a big open warehouse. We have a few rooms where we keep our designs and some of the smaller mosaic pieces we are working on. The area around S.V. Road is always jammed with people and cars, so once you get inside our suite, it feels a bit more peaceful. We spend a lot of time sitting at the tables, looking at small bits of stone and trying to figure out how they fit together. It’s a lot of fiddly work, making sure the colors match up right. Sometimes we have pieces of stone all over the floor while we try to organize a pattern. We aren't a big corporate firm; it’s just a few of us who like working with these materials. Residents in the building sometimes walk past and see us through the door. We just do our work, drink our coffee, and try to finish the designs on time. Santacruz is a busy place to be, but we’ve made this little corner of the residency work for what we do. It’s practical, it’s local, and it’s where we show up every morning to get things done without any fuss.
