Mohammed Kasam Co

Our place, Mohammed Kasam Co, is situated in Masjid Bunder West. Specifically, we are on Bhagwandas Road, not far from the Bank of Baroda. If you know this part of Mumbai, you know it’s always packed with carts, trucks, and people moving goods. It’s a very old area with a lot of history in trading. We operate out of a space that has been around for decades. Inside, it’s mostly shelves and stacks of items we deal in. The lighting isn't the brightest, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We spend most of the day talking to suppliers and arranging transport. It’s a lot of manual work and checking ledgers. Bhagwandas Road is narrow, so getting deliveries in can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We’ve gotten used to the noise and the constant activity outside. It’s just the way things are here in Masjid Bunder. We don't have a big marketing team or a polished website. Most people find us because they’ve been doing business with the family for a long time. We try to be fair and just do our daily tasks. The humidity gets pretty high in the shop during the monsoon, but we keep the goods covered with plastic sheets. It's a busy life but we like being in the center of the market. There's always someone stopping by for a chat or to check on an order. We stay busy until the sun goes down.
