Our kitchen is set up near the Punch Kutir bus stop in Powai. If you are on Adishankrachary Marg, you have probably passed by us without even noticing. It is a busy little corner of the world. We don’t have a big dining room or a place for people to sit down and eat. Most of the action happens in the back where the stoves are. It gets really hot in there, especially in the afternoons when we have several big orders going at once. We have been doing this for a long time. Our staff knows the neighborhood well and we are used to the noise from the bus stop. Sometimes the traffic makes it hard to get the vans out, but we always find a way. We are just a group of people who know how to cook and we don't try to be anything else. There are no fancy uniforms or polished menus. We just get the food ready and send it out. You can usually smell what we are cooking if you are standing outside. We don’t have a lot of time for talking or making things look pretty. The floors get messy and we clean them up at the end of the shift. It is just a regular local business run by people who work hard. We focus on the pots and pans and making sure the food is ready when it needs to be.
