Minerva Keys

We’ve been here at B5 in the Firadus Building on Lamington Road for a good while now. If you know the area, you probably know the Minerva Cinema right across from us. It's a busy part of Grant Road East, always noisy with traffic and people rushing past to get their electronics or whatever else they need. Our shop isn't anything fancy, just a small space where we keep all the blanks and machines for cutting keys. Some days it feels like we spend more time talking to neighbors than actually working, but that’s just how it is around here. People drop in because they lost their house keys or the car remote stopped working. We try to get things done as they come in. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front of the building. We’ve seen the cinema across the street change over the years, but our little corner stays mostly the same. There's a lot of dust from the road, so we're always wiping down the counters every morning. Most of our customers are locals who live in the buildings nearby or shop owners from further down Lamington Road who need a spare set made quickly. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept in the drawers. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people stand inside at once. We usually have the radio on or just listen to the horns outside. It's honest work and keeps us busy from morning until we close up.
