We’ve been here in Mumbai for a while now, just running things from our spot. It gets pretty loud outside with all the traffic and people moving around, but inside we just focus on what needs doing for the day. Meydhavini started out small and it’s still pretty much that way, which suits us just fine. Some days are busier than others, especially when the weather isn’t helping much, but we show up and open the doors regardless. We deal with a lot of different people coming through. It's not a fancy setup here. There are stacks of stuff in the corners and the desks are a bit cluttered with papers and old tea cups. Most of the time, we’re just sorting through orders or talking to folks who stop by to ask questions. I usually handle the phone calls while the others manage the floor. It's a lot of back and forth. You get used to the rhythm of the city after a while. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot of work piled up, but mostly we try to wrap things up by evening. There isn't some big secret to how we do things. We just try to keep track of everything and make sure things get where they need to go without too much trouble. It’s a lot of manual work and checking lists. We’ve known the neighbors for years, so it feels like a decent community even if it's crowded.
