Meeta Machine Tools

Our shop, Meeta Machine Tools, is located over at 36, Batra Industries (I). If you are coming down Chandivli Village Road, you can’t really miss the turn-off, though the traffic gets pretty bad around lunch. We are right opposite Forbes & Gokak Ltd., which is a big landmark that everyone knows. Usually, there’s a lot of noise from the other units in Batra Industries, but we’ve grown to ignore it. The space inside number 36 is packed with parts and old metal bits we’ve kept over the years. It’s not the cleanest place in Chandivili, but it’s where we do all the work. The ventilation isn’t the best on humid days, so we keep the big front shutters open to get a breeze from the road. Most of the guys here have been working these machine tools for years. We get our tea from the stall just a few doors down. Sometimes customers get lost looking for the specific unit number because Batra Industries is a bit of a maze, but we usually just tell them to look for the sign near the Forbes gate. It’s a busy spot, and there’s always something being moved or loaded onto a tempo in the alleyway. Working at Meeta Machine Tools means dealing with a lot of grease and the smell of cutting oil, but that is just the way the day goes here on Chandivli Village Road. We usually finish up and close the shutters once the sun starts setting.
