Meatzza

If you head over to Bandra West, specifically to Shop No. 1 & 2 on 100 Feet Road in Nethaji Nagar, you’ll find Meatzza. We are tucked into the Peenya Indl. Area. Our day usually starts with deliveries arriving in the back. It’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. We deal with various meat products and sometimes prep things for customers who are in a hurry. The shop is simple. We have counters, some freezers, and a space where we handle the orders. It isn't a high-end designer space. It smells like a butcher shop because that is exactly what it is. We spend a lot of time cleaning the surfaces because hygiene is the main thing we worry about. We don't use marketing talk to describe our meat. We just show what we have in the display and let people choose. Sometimes the saws need sharpening or the freezer alarm goes off, and we have to drop everything to fix it. Our staff is mostly guys from the neighborhood who have been working here a long time. We know the regulars and how they like their cuts. It’s a physical job and our aprons are rarely clean for long. We just show up, do the work, and close the shutters at night. It’s a straightforward way to make a living in a busy part of Bandra. We don't try to be anything we are not.
