Meal Magic

Down in Santacruz Kalina 1, our place Meal Magic is where we spend most of our time. It’s a busy part of the city, and there are always people moving around. We aren't tucked away in a fancy mall; we are just right there on the street where everyone can see us. The kitchen is the heart of the whole thing, and it stays warm in there even when the rain is pouring outside. We try to keep a decent variety of stuff on the menu, but it’s all fairly standard things that people like to eat every day. Our regulars are mostly folks who work in the local shops or students who are looking for a quick bite between their classes. The tables are usually full around one or two o'clock, and the chatter can get quite loud. We don't mind the noise, it makes the place feel alive. We handle everything ourselves, from cleaning the floors to taking the orders. It’s a straightforward business without any hidden tricks. Some days are slower than others, especially when the heat is really bad and nobody wants to walk outside. But mostly, we stay steady. We’ve learned over time that people just want a meal that tastes right and doesn't cost too much. That’s what we try to provide here in Kalina every day we open the shutters. We aren't trying to change the world, just feed the neighborhood.
