Matunga Best Pan Shop

We are Matunga Best Pan Shop, located in Matunga East near Chiman Baug and the Maharashtra Mandal in Sadashiv Peth. This part of the city has a lot of old trees and traditional buildings. Our shop is just a small stall on the street side. We keep the ingredients in steel containers and have a big block of ice to keep the drinks cold during the hot hours. The area around Maharashtra Mandal is usually busy with people going to various events or the nearby temple. We spend a lot of time preparing the masalas for the paan. Sadashiv Peth has a very specific feel to it, and we’ve been part of this street for many years. The counter is covered with a green plastic sheet to keep it clean. We have a small radio that plays local stations in the background. Most of our customers are people who have lived in Matunga East their whole lives. They stop by for a chat while we wrap their orders in newspaper or plastic. The Chiman Baug area is quite pleasant, even with the traffic. We don't have a big sign, just the name painted on a board. It’s a simple business where we focus on the daily routine of cleaning, prepping, and serving. The leaves are always stacked neatly in a wet cloth to keep them fresh throughout the day. We share a water connection with the shop next door.
