Mary Fast Food has been sitting here on Chincholi Cross Road for a good few years now. If you know the Malad West area, specifically near Link Roa, you know it stays crowded until very late at night. Our shop is right in the middle of all that movement. It’s mostly just a counter and some space to stand while the food gets ready. The smell of frying oil is usually the first thing you notice when you get close. We go through a lot of onions and potatoes every single day. My hands usually smell like garlic even after I go home. It’s a fast-paced kind of life here. We don't have much time for sitting down once the evening crowd starts showing up. The regulars usually just shout their orders over the noise of the traffic. Sometimes the rain gets quite heavy and leaks a little bit under the front awning, so we have to push the bins back. We keep the stove going pretty much all day. It gets hot in the back, especially during the summer months. There are a lot of other shops nearby, so we all know each other. We swap news about the neighborhood while we wait for the next rush. It’s just a simple fast food spot. We don't try to be anything else. Just Malad life. We have a small bin for trash outside that we have to empty two or three times every night because of all the paper plates. It's just part of the routine.
