Our shop is number 141 inside the Citi Mall, which is right there in Andheri West. Being in a mall means there’s always a lot of foot traffic and noise, especially on the weekends. It’s a small space, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need to run the estate agency. We deal a lot with the areas around New Lin and Kalewadi, so we’re often out of the office and moving through the Andheri traffic. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know how crazy the streets can get. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know the local buildings and the people who own them. People often wander in while they’re out shopping just to ask about prices or what’s for rent nearby. We don’t have any polished speeches prepared; we just give them the facts as we have them. The mall lights are always on, and there’s usually music playing from one of the other shops nearby, which makes for a lively atmosphere. Malhotra Estate Agency has been tucked into this corner of the mall for a while now. It’s a busy life, jumping from one meeting to the next and trying to keep all the paperwork organized in such a small shop. But it’s Andheri, and things are always moving, so we just try to keep up with it all. We’re usually here until late, just trying to get the last few things sorted before heading home.
