Orlem Estate Agency

Our small shop is tucked away in Shop No 4 at Lalman Yadav Chawl. It’s right here in Malad West, over in the Sakinaka area where things are always a bit noisy and busy. We’ve been running Orlem Estate Agency from this spot for a while now. It isn’t a fancy place with glass walls or anything like that. Just a simple desk, some chairs, and a lot of registers for the local properties we keep track of. Most mornings start with opening the shutter and cleaning the dust off the table because the road outside is always under some kind of work. People from the neighborhood stop by to ask about room rents or if anyone is selling their space. We know most of the faces around here by now. Sakinaka has changed a lot, but this chawl stays pretty much the same. We handle the paperwork and talk to the owners when someone needs a place to stay. It’s a lot of walking around sometimes to show people the actual rooms, especially when the weather is hot or raining. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who know the lanes and the buildings in Malad. If you are looking for Shop No 4, it is easier to just ask the local tea stall guy if you get lost. We are usually here until late evening unless we are out at a site visit or stuck in traffic somewhere nearby. It's just how we do things here.
