We are over at Shop No 7 in the Dhruv Height building in Malad East. It’s a ground-floor shop, so it’s easy for people to just walk in off the street. Malad East is always crowded, and the area around Dhruv Heights is no exception. There is a lot of noise from the cars and the people going about their business. Our shop isn't very big, but we’ve managed to fit in everything we need. We have a couple of desks and a small bench for people to wait on. The walls are mostly covered with lists and some maps of the local area. We spend a lot of our day dealing with the local landlords and people looking for a place to rent or buy. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of walking around to show different properties. The floor is made of simple tiles that we try to keep clean, though people bring in a lot of dust from the street. We don't have a big team or anything; it’s just a few of us making sure everything runs smoothly. We have a small cupboard for our files and a water cooler in the corner. It’s a very practical place. We don't worry about being fancy. As long as the lights are on and the phone is working, we can do our job just fine. It’s been our base for a while now. We keep the door open to let air in and watch the traffic.
