Our place is called Search Home and we are situated in Shop No F/74. We are on the first floor of the Shagu building in Malad East. If you are coming from the A D Camp Chowk, we are quite close to that intersection. We are also not far from Oberoi Mall, which is a big help when people are trying to find us for the first time. Being on the first floor means you have to walk up a few steps, but it’s a bit quieter up here than it is right on the street level. We spend our time helping folks look for houses and apartments in this side of Mumbai. It’s a busy job because the city never really stops moving. The office is just a regular room with some computers and a lot of folders. We drink a lot of coffee to stay awake during the long afternoons. Malad East is a crowded area, but that’s where the action is. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to park your scooter near the building, but we’ve managed so far. We don’t have a big staff, just a few people who know the local streets well. People stop by to ask about rents or prices, and we tell them what we know. It is not a fancy operation, just a small office where we try to get the work done right every day. It feels good when someone finally finds the right place to live.
