Our small shop is number 11 in the Shiv Sagar building, located on Haji Bap in Malad East. It is a local spot and we have been here for a long time. Malad East is a crowded and lively area, and the street is always full of activity. We work as estate agents, mostly helping people with small flats or shops in the neighborhood. Our office is tiny, just enough for a couple of chairs and a desk covered in notes. We don't believe in fancy advertisements or slick presentations. We just know the local buildings and the landlords around here. If someone is looking for a place to rent, they usually just walk in and ask what we have available. We spend a lot of our time walking through the narrow lanes of Malad East to check on properties. It is a very local business and we know many of the residents by name. We deal with all the usual stuff like deposits and agreements, trying to make it as simple as possible for everyone involved. Sometimes the market is slow and we just chat with the neighbors, and other times we are running around all day. We are just regular people helping other regular people find a place to live or work. It’s not a complicated life, but it keeps us busy. We take our tea breaks at the stall down the street and that’s where we hear most of the local news.
