Choudhary Estate Agency is tucked away in the Navashya Compound over in Malad East. We are at number 3, right across the road from the Bhagyashree Temple. If you know that landmark, you can find us pretty easily. It is a noisy area because of the traffic on Old Madras Road, but we have gotten used to the sound of horns and engines over the years. We mostly handle local property matters. People from around the neighborhood stop in when they are looking for a new flat to rent or when they have a bit of land they want to sell. The office itself is quite small and filled with old desks and stacks of files. We spend a lot of our time walking through the nearby lanes showing houses to families or taking photos of new listings. It is not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy. We have seen Malad East change a lot since we started. There are so many new buildings now where there used to be open space. We just try to keep track of what is available so we can give people a straight answer when they ask. Sometimes we just sit and have tea with the regulars who drop by to gossip about the local market. It is a simple way of doing business, based on knowing the people and the streets around here. We just do our best to keep things moving every day.
