We set up Mahavir Estate Consultant in Shop No 74, which is in Building No 74 in the Ev Kandivali East area. It’s on the first floor, a place called Kanan Kunte. It’s a bit of a walk to find the right building sometimes, but we are right near the Jain Temple. You can often hear the bells or see the people heading for prayers while we are working. The office is small and filled with papers and maps of the local blocks. We focus on this part of Kandivali because it’s what we know best. Most of the people who come to see us are looking for a small flat or maybe a shop nearby. We aren't a big firm with fancy brochures. We just talk to people and show them what is available in the registers. It’s a lot of drinking tea and discussing prices or lease terms. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the shopkeepers on the ground floor. It’s a busy little community and we are just a part of it. Sometimes it’s slow, and sometimes three people walk in at once. We just take it as it comes. We don't try to sound like anything more than what we are, which is just some guys helping with property in the neighborhood. It’s a practical way to earn a living and we like being near the temple every day.
